Thinking about Breastfeeding and want to know more?
There are several drop-in sessions in Flintshire
where Mothers can meet Peer Supporters.
Just pop in, bring the children and have a coffee!!

WHERE? WHEN?
You don't have to attend the group in your home area - just pick a time or venue which suits you. Pick & choose as you please, but do understand that a Peer Supporter who has got to know you will be able to help you more.
You can click here to see a map (using Google Maps) showing the groups' locations.

Info on other groups here.
Try the Facebook contact pages for Anglesey & Gwynedd - or Conwy - or Wrexham.
Denbighshire are setting up support groups in Rhyl, Prestatyn, Corwen & Ruthin - ask your local midwife/health visitors for details.
You don't have to be a Facebook user to see some of these pages, and from there you should be able to access info on meetings/phone numbers. If in doubt, contact another area & they should be able to "put you through"!!
Cheshire has the Bosom Buddies - you can find out more by calling the groups (e.g. Boughton 01244 973 430, Lache 01244 977 791), or by accessing info at http://www.coch.nhs.uk/absolute/en/templateOrangeNew.aspx?articleid=717&zoneid=38

WHO?
Anyone can attend any group - whether you are antenatal, a new Parent or an experienced old hand, all will be very welcome! We especially love to meet bumps!
Children of many different ages come along and naturally they are made very welcome! All our groups take place in a space where older children can play, though the Buckley, Holywell & Northop groups offer the best facilities & space to move.
The groups are 'staffed' by a variety of different volunteers who are Peer Supporters; they do their best to attend as regularly as they can. These are experienced Breastfeeding Mums who have attended courses on helping & supporting other Mums!
(Do think about becoming a Peer Supporter - call the number below to find out more.)
The groups are often a good place to meet local breastfeeding-friendly Health Visitors & Midwives, too.
WHAT?
A variety of topics will be discussed but we are very informal: this is not a class, a lecture or a clinic!
Personal advice & support is always on offer.
"There are no silly questions - if you are thinking it,
then we probably did too"
We have free libraries of interesting books - you are welcome to borrow books on breastfeeding and general parenting topics.
There may be a very small charge to cover the cost of teas.
WHY?
We are here to give Mother-to-Mother Support.
Because breastfeeding is the normal way to feed your child, and learning the art of breastfeeding is easiest in the company of other breastfeeding mothers.
Breastfeeding mothers go on to discover that others in the group have a similar outlook on all sorts of parenting issues, and it is a useful place to talk & learn more.
